On Writing...

Writing is a magical process. When I begin a book, or even a lecture, I feel like I'm setting off on a long pilgrimage, an arduous journey with dangers and pitfalls, but one which will help me to learn about myself and the world. We are always writing our lives into our memories. I think of writing books as a way of bringing old memories to life.
